Visitors to this location can enjoy a variety of recreational activities. These include kayaking and jet skiing at Boulder Beach, Special Events Beach, Canoe/Kayak Beach, and PWC Beach. For those who prefer land-based activities, the River Mountains Loop Trail offers a chance to explore the park. Nearby Hemenway Harbor offers a fishing pier, boat launch ramp access, and marinas. Boating and water skiing are also popular activities. Additionally, there are shaded picnic areas throughout the park for visitors to enjoy.

The campground is open year-round and features large paved sites that can accommodate tents or large RVs. Each site comes with tables, fire pits and/or grills. Restrooms and water spigots are located throughout the campsite. The campground also offers beautiful views of Lake Mead and is just a 15-minute walk from Boulder Beach. Please note that while RVs may park in any campsite, there are no hookups. WiFi is available through a concessionaire service.

The climate at this location can be quite varied. Temperatures usually surpass 100F (37C) degrees from June to August. In May and September, daytime highs are around 90F (32C). From October to April, temperatures are much cooler, with lows dipping to freezing temperatures from December to February. The area averages 4 inches of rain each year.

There are several boating facilities available at this location. The nearest motorized boating access from Boulder Beach is at Hemenway Harbor launch ramp. Rental boats are located nearby at Las Vegas Boat Harbor. Water-access fuel is located at the Las Vegas Boat Harbor (Hemenway Harbor), which is near Boulder Beach. Visitors may launch personal watercraft from the rocky beaches south of the swim area.

Fishing is a year-round activity at this location, with each season bringing its own exciting opportunities. Due to low water conditions, Hemenway Harbor no longer has a fishing pier, however, shore fishing at Hemenway Fishing Point is allowed in the designated area marked by buoys. Fishing equipment, bait, and supplies are available at the marina store, and a convenient fish cleaning station is located at the top of the launch ramp parking lot.
